Build this great mobile with the wonderful and zany characters from Audrey Wood's - "Little Penguin's Tale".
Instructions:
Download the two files at the bottom of the page and print them on your color printer (or save them to print later).
Glue the the printed sheets to some heavy colored construction paper. If you want the backing for each character to be a different color; roughly cut out each character and then paste it to a piece of construction paper.
Cut out each character just inside the dotted lines. Punch out the holes at the top and bottom of each character (using a hole punch or sharp pencil). There is a hole at the top and bottom of each character so you can arrange them any way you wish. Once you've figured out which characters will be at the bottom of your mobile, cut the area for the hole off the bottoms of those characters.
Now you will need some short sticks (¼" dowels are perfect) or a wire hanger and some string or yarn. Tie the sticks and the characters together so that when holding the mobile from the top it remains balanced. You can move the centers of the strings to the left or right to help balance the mobile. Tape the strings in place when the mobile is balanced. (The sticks in the picture above are one-10" and two-5".)
